Chibini is a rural village located southeast of Pietermaritzburg. Poverty and unemployment are prevalent among young people and women, driven by limited local employment opportunities and reliance on agricultural employment and seasonal labor. Many households lack piped water, formal sanitation, and electricity. Family structures often include single-mother households, and key issues include youth unemployment, teenage pregnancy, and substance abuse. Isiseko Imara has established a soccer program where coach Siyamthanda works with his players to encourage them in their academics while supporting them on the soccer field.
