KwaDabeka is a township northwest of Durban, South Africa. It’s home to over 50,000 people, with Zulu as the dominant language. Most children in KwaDabeka are raised in single-parent households, or some cases, they are cared for by an aunt or grandparent. The township faces issues including poverty, unemployment, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, and crime. Isiseko Imara has established a boys soccer program and a boys and girls basketball program within the township to provide mentorship opportunities and help keep kids off the streets.
